Derived indexes

Handicaps

Tour players do not post a GHIN. These plus-indexes are derived from professional scoring against estimated championship ratings — a conceptual WHS differential, labeled as such. YouTube-space rows use public cards. Plus numbers are better than scratch. Whole numbers without a plus are regular handicaps.

PGA Tour

Built from professional rounds. Treat the index as a band, not a certificate.

PlayerIndexRoundsMethodNote
Scottie Scheffler+6.862Tour scoring average versus estimated course rating/slope on championship setups, converted to a WHS-style differential and truncated.World No. 1 season shape. This is not a GHIN post. It is a derived tour index so the YouTube column has something honest to sit next to.
Rory McIlroy+6.254Same differential method as the Scheffler row. Major weeks weighted the same as regular events in this seed.Plus-index band shared with the rest of the top ten. The gap to Scheffler is strokes, not a different species.
Xander Schauffele+5.458Derived from professional stroke averages on rated championship tees.Mid-elite tour band. Useful as the 'very good PGA Tour player' anchor.
Median made-cut starter+3.980Composite of scoring averages from mid-field regular-event finishers, not a single person. The tour is not a row of +6s. This row exists so the table does not lie.

YouTube space

Creator golf with posted holes. Sample sizes are smaller and the formats are messier.

PlayerIndexRoundsMethodNote
Brad Dalke+3.218College-plus creator cards from public matches.Former amateur standout now living in creator events. Index reflects posted YouTube scoring, not a recruiting book.
Grant Horvat+1.422Public round posts and televised YouTube cards, treated as competition differentials against published ratings where known.YouTube-space plus-handicap. Cards are entertainment plus golf; sample is thinner than a tour season.
Rick Shiels2.630Published channel handicap and recorded social matches. Stored as a regular (non-plus) index of 2.6.Instruction-and-review volume golfer. Useful as the 'single-digit creator who posts everything' row.
Good Good mid-card4.840Composite of regular Good Good match participants who are not plus-index ringers. The YouTube tour is a spread, same as the PGA Tour. This is the 8–12 band people actually watch.
